“The best way to ensure the ongoing role of a heritage place in the community is to use it. This must occur in a manner that retains and supports the heritage value of the place – its “significance - Heritage Council of NSW.” “Studio M was engaged to restore the 21st PM of Australia’s house to its former glory. Materials used from first construction back in 1957 like the sandy coloured exterior brick, vanity, floor & wall finishes, hardware, etc. had to be sourced. Research, custom engineering and time were the key to success for this project. The aim of this conservation was to ensure that the significance of heritage items is maintained over time. It was not just the main building on the site that was important from a heritage point of view, other elements of the site, such as landscaping, paving, fences, all made their own contributions to the heritage significance of the place, and were considered in our evaluation prior to carrying out any work - Studio M Architecture
